Northrop Grumman Corp., the giant defense contractor based in suburban Washington, D.C., has entered a mentor-protégé relationship with small defense contractor Juno Technologies Inc., Northrop announced.
Both are working on a U.S. Defense Department program called CANES, which will upgrade computer networks aboard U.S. Navy ships.
The mentor-protégé program is a formal program under the Defense Department. Northrop has agreed to show Juno the ropes for 24 months, touching on topics such as business development, proposal development, foreign military sales, and the export regulation law called International Traffic in Arms Regulations, aka ITAR.
Juno is a women-owned small business focused on applying commercially available computer technology to Defense Department programs.
