SDVC EFA Meeting

Goals/purpose statement for the group:

“Purpose: The EFA will serve as the conduit of information & catalyst for activity in all SDVC endeavors related to Employment, Entrepreneurship and Financial stability of our Veteran population in the San Diego county area. Our efforts will connect Veterans and Employers to critical jobs in priority industries as well as facilitate the entrepreneurial development of Veterans and/or their family members. To support this, we will deliver timely, effective, and value-added information about the resources and services related to supporting our Veterans and their support network. Our actions will stimulate economic growth and promote financial stability in our Veteran Community.”

Agenda for this meeting:

  • Review framework for a California Transition Assistance Program (CALTAP) model
  • Review the progress of OPERATION REBOOT – A Industry focused state-funded veteran workforce development program
  • Discuss regional industry workforce needs
  • Discuss the formation of the Regional Veterans Workforce Development Alliance
  • Brainstorm potential future funding sources
  • Presentation/Discussion veteran use of O-Net
  • DoD (1322.29) Skillbridge Employment Training Program discussion
